Who is Nick Supreme & How did He get here?
“I am a young African American artist, born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. My journey into art began in middle school, where I couldn’t resist drawing, even during class. I often got in trouble for sketching, typically my favorite Dragon Ball Z characters, on anything I could get my hands on—binders, textbooks, desks, and even lockers.
As time passed, my passion for art expanded beyond simple drawings. I began exploring various mediums, including traditional art, fashion design, sculpting, graphic design, and eventually photography. In 2016, just before starting college, I began experimenting with graphic design. My first project was a custom BMW logo featuring my initials in place of the traditional lettering. From there, I delved deeper into Photoshop, creating everything from personal designs to a custom tattoo for a close friend.
A year later, I joined my school’s Trojan Activities Board as a graphic designer and photographer. I was responsible for designing campus flyers and capturing key moments at school events. I served as Media Chair from 2017 until my graduation in 2021.
During the pandemic, I dedicated myself to refining my skills in graphic design and photography. This period of trial and error helped me discover my own style, heavily influenced by film photography and minimalist design. My creative journey eventually led to collaborations with Creative Nation and several prominent artists, including Erykah Badu, Larry June, Dom Kennedy, DaBaby, Sexyy Red, Meek Mill, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Mariah the Scientist, Toosii, K CAMP, and Zyaa.
Today, my work has gained recognition, featured in articles and blogs such as Lyrical Lemonade, BluCloud Radio, The Virginian-Pilot, and Virginia State University.”
